Hometown love is alive and well at Imagine That Olcott. Co-owners, BFF and artists, Jessica Malloy & Christine Kelemen have combined passion, parenting & superb work acumen to create a successful art studio in Olcott-on-the-Lake, NY.
Both seasoned artisans in their own right, armed with a Masters Degree in Art Education, Jessica pursued the “risky” path less traveled and sought to open her own studio, following an unsatisfying employ in medical billing. Christine, a professional Pyrographer (art of decorating wood or leather by burning on the surface with a heated metallic point), fortuitously met her partner-in-crime at a artisan vendors fair. The chemistry was immediate and both set their sights on creating a studio where 1) local artists could affordably share their work, 2) offer the region a venue to “try their hand” (pun intended) at painting & ceramics, and most importantly, 3) do what they love most while balancing family in the mix.
The popular studio sells beautiful art pieces from over 52 area artisans, including their own work. Christine manages the retail aspect of the studio while Jessica coordinates the activities related to ceramics and “Paint with Personality” classes. The two business owners are entrenched in their picturesque lakeside community of Olcott, offering public events, such as, “Art with Life Lessons” camp for children:
